Dr Ji Han holds a Senior Lecturer position in Design and Innovation at INDEX in the University of Exeter’s Business School. His research focuses on design creativity, computational creativity, data-driven design, and AI in design. His research addresses various topics relating to design creativity and innovation, and places a strong emphasis on exploring new design theories and computational models to support innovation.
Prior to joining the University of Exeter, he worked at the University of Liverpool as a Lecturer in Industrial Design at the School of Engineering. At Liverpool, his role involves the founding Programme Director of Product Design Engineering MEng/BEng, the Programme Director of Industrial Design MEng/BEng, the Admissions Tutor, and the Co-Director of the Systems Realization Laboratory @ UoL and the research lead of the Creativity and Innovation group. He completed his PhD in Design Engineering at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London and an MSc in Engineering Design at the University of Bath.
He is also a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), a Member of the Institution of Engineering Designers (MIED), and a Member of the Design Society.
