IT investment and media reputation

Dr Stavros Polykarpou’s longitudinal study of healthcare organizations (‘Challenges of Scaling 3D Printing’) is part of a larger project he is conducting that examines value in the digital age, using different theoretical perspectives and methods. Crucially, this paper aims to expand the notion of value beyond economic and operational notions, towards social goals, one of which is organizational reputation. This paper examines if, how, and to what extent IT investments shape reputation by testing a panel dataset drawn from 52 English hospital organizations over five consecutive years.
